Conemaugh Gap Scenic Overlook

It is often said that there is beauty all around us, if only we take a moment to look. For those of us that travel in and out of Johnstown, PA’s West End via Haws Pike, this might be especially true. It’s along this route that the highway parallels the Conemaugh Gap.
Fortunately, there are some great opportunities to take in this view.
BOTTLE WORKS Ethnic Arts Center

Johnstown, PA promotes artists and their work using a variety of paths. One of the most well-known is the BOTTLE WORKS Ethnic Arts Center, located in the city’s Cambria City neighborhood. Within the walls of their two-story building, BOTTLE WORKS staff work diligently to support the organization’s overall mission—“Preserving and celebrating the cultural diversity of the peoples of this region through their arts.”
Fireworks Displays

For many families, it’s a summer tradition to pack up and head to a favorite spot for the annual Independence Day fireworks displays. Lawn chairs, clear skies and perhaps a blanket are all that is needed to enjoy these colorful nighttime presentations.
