Richland Community Days
Is your family looking for exciting activities everyone can enjoy? What about an event with a parade, music, food, crafts, fireworks, children’s activities, classic car show and more? Look no further than the 5th annual “Richland Community Days” event, held Friday and Saturday, August 17th and 18th. With free parking and admission, Richland Community Days has become more than a neighborhood event, it is an annual regional celebration!
Richland Community Days starts at 4pm on Friday, August 17th with a community tent, food, entertainment, crafts from over a dozen vendors, chance games and a quilt show. The musical performances on Friday include Ribbon Grass Acoustic and the Conniptions on the main stage, and the Johnstown Civic Band, Denise Baldwin and Hard Rock, Coco and Joe on the tent stage. These performances start at 5:30pm and run until midnight.
On Saturday, August 18th, the fun begins at 11am with a parade. At noon, the car and motorcycle cruise begins along Schoolhouse road in front of the library. Expect to see antique cars, street rods, classic and custom cars and motorcycles. Also beginning at noon are the free kids activities, including inflatable rides, clowns, mascots, coloring area, balloons, karate and gymnastics show and a mountain of synthetic snow for ice-skating and a hockey shoot-out station.
The musical acts on Saturday include Berlin Fife and Drum Corps, Spiff Jeffy and the Freeze Line, Saddle Up, Flood City Brass, Jerry Intihar Band, Jazz in Your Face, Tree and Who’s Your Daddy?, with these performances starting at noon and running until midnight. DJ Dancin Dan will be set up at the pavilion near the Richland Elementary school for a teen karaoke from 5pm-8pm. Saturday also includes craft vendors, food, a quilt show, a performance from the US Air Force Drill Team and more.
Saturday evening includes a twilight 5k run, with all proceeds benefiting the East Hills Recreation and Richland High School Cross Country Teams. Also on Saturday night at 9:30pm, a fireworks show will be held.
Richland Community Days has grown into an annual event that the whole family can enjoy and has something for everyone, no matter what your age. Be sure to mark the weekend of August 17th on your calendar so your family can enjoy the festivities as well.
