The perennial favorite Sesame Street Live once again returns to Johnstown—this time with “Elmo Makes Music”. Three shows are scheduled for Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at the Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, PA. Showtimes are at 10:30am, 3:30pm, and 7pm.

Sesame Street Live is great fun for the whole family. Here’s what the producers have to say about the upcoming shows:

Sesame Street Live is a larger-than-life, musical touring stage production featuring Big Bird, Elmo, Cookie Monster, Bert and Ernie and more. Each performance is 90 minutes of singing, dancing and audience participation, including a 15-minute intermission. The perfect length for very young children! The Pitt-Johnstown campus in Richland is offering a number of camps this summer. For the older kids there are camps on outdoor adventures, enrichment, engineering, and science. For the younger crowd, there are some mini-camps scheduled for these subjects: preschool, music, dancing, cheering, earth, computers, and theater.

If your kids can’t fit a whole week of classes into their schedules there are a number of one to two day courses on a variety of subjects such as: math, bugs, princesses, gardening, geology, the sea, Webkinz, science, astronomy, drawing, and much more.

Laurel Arts, located at 214 S. Harrison Avenue, Somerset, will help children tap into their creative side by offering art and theater camps in a variety of age ranges. The Johnstown Area Heritage Association offers one-day educational and cultural workshops for children of various age groups at the Heritage Discovery Center in Cambria City. These programs provide children with the chance to experience things outside their typical summertime routine and could even uncover a new skill or passion. With all of these great opportunities for kids to enjoy, you may just get through the summer without hearing, “Mom, I’m bored.”
